The investigation of the alleged motorcycle gang shooting in Pulaski County Saturday evening has been turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Wednesday, 17 August 2011

According to Pulaski County Sheriff J.B. King, the incident was initially reported by more than 20 emergency calls, none of which the callers seemed to know exactly what they were seeing.

The incident was reported as taking place in the median of Interstate 44 near the 150-mile marker and, according to the release, was reported as a traffic accident, a fight with at least 20 individuals involved and gunshots being fired.

Traffic on the interstate was backed up because of the incident, but the suspects had moved on when officers arrived.

Law enforcement concluded that there was no traffic crash, but that several motorcycle gangs happened to be passing through the area at the same time and violence between them broke out.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Sgt. Dan Crain, the agency believes the incident produced two gunshot victims, and both received superficial wounds and refused treatment.

According to King and Crain, neither of the gunshot victims wish to pursue charges against their assailants.
